Roll With Jose - Live Without Limits in Support of Veteran Mental Health
Triple amputee Army SPC Jose Martinez doesn't let his injury stop him from living life. His incredible work ethic and mentality has led him to become one of the top paralympic surfers in the world and now he uses that mentality to support and motivate other veterans.
That’s why the White Heart Foundation is teaming up with Jose to launch a new fundraising fitness initiative on Kilter aimed at raising awareness about veteran mental health and funds for White Heart’s Guardian Project, a program Jose attended that helped him to see that he can still be active and succeed despite his injuries. Jose's goal with this campaign is to help stop veteran suicide and raise enough money to cover one Guardian Project excursion.
You can be a part of the solution simply by getting involved and active however you do you and you’ll have the chance to win a $300 Southwest Airlines Gift Card among other prizes! Whether you run, walk, roll, hike, surf, go whitewater rafting, rock climb, bike, play pickleball, walk your dog around the block, volunteer, or anything else that keeps you active and healthy, earn points every day for logging your activities while you compete to win prizes and fundraise to support this important cause!
$10,000 raised would cover the costs of one Guardian Project excursion, in which veterans are taken on remote outdoor excursions with the goal of improving mental and physical well-being. This unique environment creates a comfortable space where veterans battling post-traumatic stress or military sexual trauma can open up and relate to others who have had a similar experience.

1) Set a Goal! Setting a daily wellness goal is important, but equally important is making sure you have a fundraising goal to aspire to. It should be exciting and aspirational.
2) Kickstart Your Campaign! Did you know that people who kickstart their fundraising with a self-donation raise about 8x more than those who don’t? Show everyone how committed to this event you are by making a donation towards your own goal. Go to the Charities tab of the event in the app and click "Donate." Choose any amount you want to contribute!
3) Email! Email! Email! The #1 way to get friends & family to know about your fundraiser is to email them! Yup, people still check their email. We suggest sending 3-5 emails for the duration of your campaign with updates, sharing your story and shout-outs to donors. Click GET DONATIONS from the event in the app to get started!
4) Get (and Stay) Social! With the Kilter app, it’s incredibly easy to keep sharing your campaign with your social media followers. Regular updates on your progress will go a long way in getting people invested in your progress. It’s also a great way to thank donors by tagging them in a post. Daily Activities
Earn up to 300 points per day for your score by completing one of the below activities. Earn 100 points per activity. Activities may be tracked through connected devices (see Profile to connect to devices), gym checks ins, and manual entries.
Connected Devices
Connect to Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin, Strava, MapMyRun, or Google Fit. From your Profile, click Connected Devices. Connect to your desired tracker(s). Data should come into Kilter automatically.
Gym Check Ins
From the Dashboard, click on the (+) and select Gym Check In. When you are within a quarter mile radius, your gym will show up on the In Range tab. Click check in. If your gym is not available, click Add Gym to request.
Manual Entries
From the Dashboard, click on the (+) and select Manual Entry. Choose the tile for your activity. Manual entries must be added within 48 hours of activity and must be greater than 30 minutes in duration to award points. May not be combined with other daily activities.
Streak Bonuses
Every 5 days in a row = +100 pts
