Join the Hiking My Feelings community to prioritize your health, walk in solidarity with friends and family living with diabetes, and honor those whose lives were cut short by this disease.
The research is clear - spending time outside has healing benefits for the mind, body, and spirit. As a starting point for diabetes prevention & management, the CDC recommends walking for 30 minutes per day, five days per week. With someone newly diagnosed every 23 seconds, more than 122 million people are pre-diabetic or living with diabetes (type 1, type 2, and others) in the United States. According to the American Diabetes Association,, that includes 49% of adults in America. And around the world, someone dies from diabetes every 8 seconds.
So if you aren't personally impacted by this disease, chances are you know someone who is. You don't have to be living with diabetes to participate, everyone is welcome!
REGISTRATION: $15-$50 Donation
$15: minimum entry + access to "Take a Hike, Diabetes" Resources + Activities
$35: all of the above + free Hiking My Feelings glow-in-the-dark Nalgene
$50: all of the above + glow-in-the-dark Hiking My Feelings hat
90% of designated funds will be donated. 10% of funds are used to cover credit card fees and for operations for this event.
Track your daily running, walking, hiking, or rolling workouts with the apps or devices you already have. It's that simple! Throughout the year, we're offering monthly prizes from our generous sponsors and free items based on your optional fundraising milestones.
