Join Friends-Utah for our annual Steps for Change event! Each year, we show our support for the youth and families we serve by WALKING, RUNNING, or ROLLING to increase community awareness and make an impact! This year, Steps for Change will run OR bike OR however you roll best, for an entire month! Then join us for our June 10th culminating event at Liberty Park, where we will celebrate reaching our goals! Remember, you can DOUBLE your miles June 5th by participating in this year’s Pride Parade, 2022. Event ends Friday, June 10th.

$20 Donation - Individual Event Entry

$100 Team Donation - Start a team of up to 10 participants!
- Step 1: Email us with your team name and square logo if you have one; include your favorite Marvel character (p.s. it's Spider Man).
- Step 2: We'll send you a join code for your team.
- Step 3: Start walking!
*100% of your entry fee goes directly to support Friends of the Children Utah in this event!
How To Join:

2) Download the FREE Kilter app
3) Choose Sign In (top right)
4) Go to the Events tab > My Events (you're already registered!)
5) Complete your profile and connect your devices - don’t forget to set a goal!
6) Share! Don’t forget to tell everyone you’ve ever met that you’re participating in this event by posting to social media and sending e-mail.
How to Fundraise!
During the event, make sure to get your Steps every day to earn points for your personal score on the live event leaderboard. Feed your inner competition beast, by staying on top!. Whether you like to beat the crowd or beat your personal best, this is a great way to do it.
Steps for Change will raise critical funds to support the important work of Friends of the Children – Utah. Here are 4 easy ways you can make an impact:
1. Set a goal! Setting a Steps goal is important, and equally important is setting a fundraising goal.. Whether it’s $50 or $500, you’re making a difference.
2. Kickstart Your Campaign! Did you know that people who kickstart their fundraising with a self-donation raise about 8 x more than those who don’t? Show everyone how committed to this event you are by making a donation towards your own goal. Above the leaderboard in the app event click the "Donate" button. Choose any amount you want to contribute!
3. Email! Email! Email! (or Text!)The #1 way to get friends & family to know about your fundraiser is to email them! . Click FUNDRAISE from the event in the app to get started!
4. Get (and stay) Social! With the Kilter App it’s incredibly easy to share your campaign with your social media followers. Regular updates on your progress will go a long way in getting people invested in your progress. It’s also a great way to thank donors by tagging them in a post. Whether you're using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok or whatever other social media apps are out there, with the click of a button you can share your campaign with hundreds of people. Click FUNDRAISE from the event in the app to get started!
How to Track Activities:
Connected Apps & Devices - visit your Profile and go to Connected Devices. Use Apple Health, Fitbit, Garmin, Strava, or Under Armour Record (MapMyRun) to seamlessly track your miles through one primary device.
Check the Scoring tab in the app for details on how to earn points in this event, or see our resource guide for more information!
Note: This is a distance event, so stationary machines will not count unless they are able to send distance data to your primary tracker.
