In honor of what would have been the 82nd Birthday of the co-founder of The Hoyt Foundation, this challenge starts on Dick Hoyt’s birthday.  Starting June 1st we have set a goal to log at least 19,890 miles.  This goal is set as the foundation was formed in 1989.  Can you help us get to 19,890 and even push past, as Dick always said, “YES YOU CAN!”‍

This event is OPEN to the public. We encourage you to invite your friends, family, and colleagues to join you in your pursuit to make a positive impact on The Hoyt Foundation as you keep each other motivated to be healthy.‍

How To Join:‍

‍1) Register Here ‍

2) Download the FREE Kilter app‍

3) Choose Sign In (top right)

4) Go to the Events tab > My Events (you're already registered!)

5) Complete your profile and connect your devices

6) Share! Don’t forget to tell everyone you’ve ever met that you’re participating in this event by posting to social media and sending e-mail.

How to fundraise:

1. Go to the Charities tab of the event in the app and click FUNDRAISE. Choose any amount you want to contribute!

2. Use the peer-to-peer function and ask your friends or family to support your team and your own fitness goals by pledging to donate on your behalf! Click FUNDRAISE from the event in the app to get started!

How to Earn Points:

Track your daily mileage through a connected fitness tracking app or device.

POINT SYSTEM:
Run, Walk, Roll, Hike: 1 mile = 100 Points

Push Assist, Hand Cycle, Roll via manual entry: 1 minute = 10 points

Approved Trackers:

  • Apple Health
  • Strava
  • Google Fit
  • Garmin
  • Fitbit
  • MapMyRun

How to Connect to Trackers:

From your Profile in the Kilter app, click Connected Devices. Connect your trackers.

IMPORTANT:

To successfully track your mileage, you must start and end a workout in one of the approved tracking apps. Following your workout activity, your data will automatically sync to the Kilter app and apply points toward your team score based on your total mileage. LEARN MORE ABOUT APPROVED TRACKERS HERE.

This Challenge starts and ends based on UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Challenges are built to start at 8 am UTC or 12 am EST on the day of the challenge. Challenges are built to end at 4 am UTC the day after the final day of the challenge or 8 pm EST on the final day of the challenge. All activities logged during the Challenge period must be completed within the above dates and times to be counted. Users will only be awarded points based on activities from the day the User joins the Challenge and after that date. Users will not receive points for activities that may upload into Kilter for days prior to the date they joined the Challenge. See the above list of activities for information on the activities that will count towards the challenge. Manual entries may be eligible depending on the Challenge. Please refer to the above list of activities. Activities will be visible to all other Challenge participants.Your followers may see notifications that you've completed activities in this challenge. Please see Privacy Settings in your profile to adjust your settings to enable followers and allow others to see your activities.The description of this challenge is provided by Kilter.We expect all participants to honor the rules of this event, which includes abiding by all health advisements and restrictions in your area prior to undertaking any physical activity.
